ROAD SAFETY WEEK
. . . 7-13 JANUARY 2002
PRESIDENT: JC SANDEEP HEBLE
|
It needs no saying that cyclists are more vulnerable than motorists.
Single file cycling is the best.
Cycle is for one and not two many.
Before turning or changing lanes give clear indication.
Rear view mirrors are important in cycles too.
Don't turn at speed specially on wet roads.
Use cycle-tracks where available.
Always keep left, to the edge of the road; don't cycle too close to slow moving or parked vehicles.
Avoid stunt cycling, never hold on to other moving vehicles.
Switch on light at night.
Mudguard should be painted white with a reflector fitted on it.
Anticipate other drivers' actions.
Be visible by wearing bright coloured clothing especially after it is dark.
Be positive and decisive in all your actions on the roads.
